This weekend, we had to say goodbye to our dear senior cat, Kiki—queen of powerful purrs, responsive meows, pillowy fur, and gentle yet persistent snuzzles of affection. Her health declined in a matter of days, and she died naturally at home, more peacefully than we dared to hope. But man, it hurts.
Finding comfort in this recent Christian Courier reflection by Brian Bork, which includes a prayer that theologian Stanley Hauerwas wrote, upon the death of his cat, about the grace of loving, being loved by, and remembering animal companions. http://www.christiancourier.ca/columns-op-ed/entry/words-matter
Sweet lady “Keek,” thanks for being such a wonderful kitty to your often silly (see last photo) owners. We sure miss you.
